Zinet Maria Bianchi Vinci, 96, of New Britain passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 peacefully at the Hospital of Central Connecticut with family members present. Born in Montecenere, Modena, Italy, she came to the United States in 1947 to marry her late husband Benjamin A. Vinci. Zinet was the daughter of the late Pietro and Beatrice (Vigriall) Bianchi.
Zinet was a nurse in Italy and met her future husband while he was in the Army delivering medical supplies to her hospital during WW2. Zinet was a member of Saint Ann Church in New Britain. Her love was her husband and her family. She enjoyed returning to Italy to see her sisters, Sunday dinners with the family and later rides with Mary and Frank Vinci. Zinet had a love of flowers.
Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Marcia Vinci of Charlotte, NC and Benjamin and Katherine Vinci of Kensington, grandsons, Benjamin, Michael, Lucian, Peter and Anthony Vinci, a sister Anita Cavaletti of Modena, Italy, brother-in-law John Soltis of Forestville, and sister-in-law Delores Urso and her husband Carl Urso of AZ, one sister-in-law, Lorraine (Carling) Vinci of New Britain. She was predeceased by her sister Gibertina Tomasi, brother-in-law Frank Vinci and wife Mary Vinci, brother-in-law Chester Vinci and wife Katherine Vinci, brother-in-law Jim Vinci, sister-in-law Rose Williams, sister-in-law Sophie Zipadelli and husband John Zipadelli, sister-in-law Lucy Bighinatti and husband Donald Bighinatti and sister-in-law Joan Pulcini and husband Pat Pulcini, brother-in-law Joseph Vinci, and sister-in-law Pauline Soltis.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 3 north at Hospital of Central Connecticut and the hospice team for their great care and support. We would also like to thank Euro-Care for their help especially Zinet’s caregiver Anna Kawka who did the best job ever in caring for our mother along with her grandson Benjamin.
Calling hours are Thursday, March 2, 5-8 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 3, a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Ann Church. Burial, in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice/Hope Hartford Health Care, 300 Queen St., Southington, CT 06485.
