William R. Ortiz
William R. Ortiz, 65, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Daisy (Camacho) Ortiz.
Born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Francisco and Petra (Rodriguez) Ortiz. William worked for Viking Kitchens as a truck driver for many years and was also employed as a technician at Pratt and Whitney, East Hartford for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son William Ortiz, Jr. of New Britain, two daughters Leticia Ramos of New Britain and Evelyn Ortiz of Hartford, six brothers, Jose Ortiz, Manuel Beltran, Franklin Ortiz and his wife Iris, Jose Luis Ortiz and his wife Luisa, Jose A. Beltran and Eduardo Beltran, two sisters Maria Ortiz and her husband Miguel Alicea, Luz Ortiz Valentin and her husband Miguel, ten grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. William was predeceased by his sister Francisca Ortiz.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6th at 10:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
