William T. Clines Sr.

William Theodore Clines Sr., 82, of New Britain, widower of Jean (Campbell) Clines, passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain surrounded by his loving family.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Stephen and Carol (Gilbert) Clines. William was a U.S. Marine Veteran and a lifelong New Britain resident. He was formerly employed as a crane operator at Feigenbaum & Nair before retiring. William enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, ice cream, puzzles and scratch tickets.

Surviving are three children, Brenda Franco and her husband Harold of New Britain, William Clines Jr. and his wife Ellen-Marie of Kensington and Robert Clines of New Britain; four grandchildren, Jennifer Burke and her husband Jamie, Kerri Zarrella, Dr. Stephanie Clines and Dylan Franco; two great grandchildren Samantha Burke and Noah Franco; four brother in-laws David Campbell of Watertown, Jay Jameson of Waterbury, Joe Jameson and John Jameson both of Torrington; two sister in-laws Sharon Chouinard and Pasty Hosko both of Waterbury; Many nieces and nephews; and his fishing buddy Carlos.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Stephen “Skip” Clines Jr, sister Carol “Sis” Sutton, brother in-laws Edward Campbell and Raleigh “Butch” Campbell and his best friend since childhood Stanley “Kas” Kasmar.

A special thanks of gratitude to son Bobby, granddaughter Jennifer and great-granddaughter Sammie for all their help and loving care of our dad, Papa, Grampie and Poppy. Many thanks to extended family and friends who offered support and comfort.

Calling hours will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023 at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM followed by military honors, also at the funeral al home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
