William B. Cabelus, Jr., 53, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Thursday at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Britain he was the loving and devoted son of Joan (Rosato) Cabelus and the late William B. Cabelus, Sr. William has been a lifelong New Britain resident, attending local schools and graduating from New Britain High School. He worked as a Machine Operator at Stanley Tools for 29 years and belonged to the Stanley Golf Course Men's Club. William was an avid golfer and loved spending his time on the course where he had claimed the title of Club Champion several times. William "Billy" is survived by his beloved mother, Joan Cabelus, whom cared for in her home for many years. He is survived by his loving children, Michael William Cabelus of Las Vegas, NV, and Krystle Lynn Cabelus of Bristol, two adoring sisters, Nancy Cabelus of Belleair, FL, Joanna and her husband David Repaci of New Britain. He also leaves two nieces Julianna Repaci, and Victoria Picard and her father, Scott Picard. In addition to his family, Billy leaves many special friends who have supported him through his illness along with a special "family" of support of co-workers from Stanley Black and Decker, New Britain, CT. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Hartford Hospital, especially Bliss 8 for their kindness and professional care. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
