Wilfredo (Freddy) Jimenez

Wilfredo (Freddy) Jimenez, age 71, of New Britian, CT passed away on Saturday, August 26th at The Hospital of Central Connecticut after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his beloved family.

Freddy was born on October 12th 1951, in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to the late Andrea and Victor Torres.

At the mere age of 1, he moved from P.R to Florida, then raised in Brooklyn NY, eventually making his way to CT where he planted his roots.

He devoted his retired life to his wife, kids and several grandchildren. He was an active member of Casa de Salvación Church in New Britian and enjoyed fishing, watching T.V (Texas Walker Ranger, cooking shows and football), eating and cooking. Anyone that had the honor to enjoy Freddy’s cooking knows what an amazing cook he was and that he took great pride in his food. Freddy was the happiest when surrounded by his family.

Freddy is survived by his loving wife, Migdalia Jimenez; sons, Victor Jimenez & wife Lynn Otero, Candido Crespo & wife Grisel Crespo, and twins, Wilfredo & Wilberto Crespo; daughters, Esperanza Villegas, Zoraida Valdes Villegas & husband Wilson Valdes, and Geraline Villegas; and grandchildren, Ariana, David Jr, Olivia, Joshua, Alyzaè and Kailee.

Freddy’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to all whom assisted with his care and acts of kindness along his journey.

Freddy will continue to watch over us, while enjoying his ice-cold Fosters.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 31st from 10am to 12pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, CT followed by a burial at Fairview Cemetery.
