Wanda Plato Tazewell, 98, of New Britain, died peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Jerome Home. She was the widow of Harvey Tazewell who died in 1966. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Julia Fengler Plato. She was a New Britain resident most of her life, living in Delaware from 1950 to 1972. She was formerly employed as a nurse's assistant at Dupont Hospital in Delaware and was a member of the South Congregational-First Baptist Church in New Britain. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Clara Plato of Newington; several nieces including Linda Plato of Newington and Carol Foster of New Britain; and her cousin, Ruth Ritner of Southington. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Olga "Ollie" Thompson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the funeral service.
