Walter F. Wolf

Walter F. Wolf, Sr, 82, of New Britain, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 26, 2005 at New Britain General Hospital. He was the widower of Anna Brown Wolf. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late August and Josephine Wolf. Walter was a life-long New Britain resident and was formerly employed at the US Postal Service in Hartford. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the New Britain Senior Citizens Center. Surviving are a son, Walter F. Wolf Jr. of Newington; a daughter, Ann Sojkowski and her husband Raymond of Enfield; a brother, Herman Wolf of New Britain; a granddaughter, Jessica Lescault and her husband Eric of Somers; five nieces and nephews; and his caregiver and good friend, Elzbieta Ela Bartnik, her husband Wojtek, and her daughters, Emilia, Malwina, Agnieszka, and Zuzia. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Thomas A. Wolf. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 295 Arch St. Burial, with military honors, will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-5 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc. 96 Oak St. Hartford, CT 06106.
