Walter S. Wojculewicz, 93, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Eknoian) Wojculewicz, his loving partner and friend from 1973 to her death in 1999.
Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Peter and Stella Wojculewicz. Walter was a lifelong New Britain and was a graduate of New Britain High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving with the 45th Armored Medical Battalion in the Central European Theater. Walter was formerly employed as a machinist at Fafnir Bearing Co. before retiring. He also worked in home construction. Walter was an avid and expert fly fisherman and fly tier. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New York Giants Fan.
Water enjoyed wonderful years with his wife’s family of mother, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and cousins , and their loving families and the Armenian community of New Britain’s St. Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church and his West Farms Mall walker friends. He was predeceased by others in his family, which family included a sister, and brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Walter received wonderful care from his caregiver, Danuta Polkowska, who was also a patient friend and helped him practice his Polish language skills.
