Walter J. Murawski

Walter J. Murawski, age 71 of Cromwell passed away unexpectedly on September 25, 2021 after a brief illness. Walter was born on January 21, 1950 in Genk, Belgium to Jan Murawski and the late Janina Murawski of New Britain. He graduated in 1969 from Pulaski High School in New Britain and attended the Paier School of Art in Hamden Connecticut. He married and settled in Unionville, CT where he raised his family. He was also a member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain. Walter had a tremendous sense of humor. There was nothing he loved more than pulling a prank or telling a story to make people laugh. His true passion was playing and writing music, fishing and just hanging out with his animals at home. Walter is survived by his wife Sandra Murawski, his son Carl Murawski and wife Joanna, his daughter Kirby Poirier and husband Kyle. He also leaves two grandchildren, Brooke and Ford Murawski along with his brother Henry Murawski, and his long time childhood best friend Richard Sadowinski. He was predeceased by his mother Janina Murawski and his brother Frank Murawski. He also leaves behind, to his son, his beloved 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang. Walt grew up playing and singing in many bands over the years. To name a few the Sole Rockers, The Great Train Robbery, Stampede, Smokehouse, and many more.

A graveside service will be held on October 6 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) at 366 Main Street Terryville, CT 06786.
