Wallace "Wally" J. Lugli

Wallace Joseph Lugli, 90, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Mar. 29, 2018 after a brief illness at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of the late Madeline C. (Conti) Lugli.

Born in Hamden, he was the son of the late Sperindio Lugli and Victoria (Gandolfi) Lugli.  Wally was a New Britain resident for most of his life and was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He was formerly employed as a Tool and Die Maker at Emhart, before retiring.  Wally was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the VFW and the Italian Fraternal Society.

Surviving are a son, Wallace P. Lugli from New Hartford; a daughter, Susan A. Lugli and her spouse Leslie Cummings from Newington and South Portland, Maine; a sister Molly Knapsack; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Shaw; three grandchildren, Casey, Kara, and Eric; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Desi John Lugli.

Wally loved to travel, spend time with family and friends and walk his dog Rosie.  He also enjoyed a good glass of wine, anything sweet and playing golf with his son and his friends. Special thanks to all the caregivers that were part of his life in his later years. “Thank you for what you do.”
