With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Virginia Vazquez, 73, of Wethersfield, who passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was surrounded by loved ones at her departure, filled with love and prayers. She was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, and was the daughter of Gregorio Roldan and Carmina Garcia.
Virginia lived in New Britain for most of her life before moving to Wethersfield. She was a member and founder of Iglesia Betel de Dios Pentecostal , CLA church in New Britain since 1992. She was a kind woman who made everyone feel seen, whether through a warm meal or a quiet prayer. She was a peacemaker and very courageous in the face of adversity. She always had a smile that warmed everyone's heart. Her faith was contagious and the foundation for those close to her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Efrain Vazquez, Sr., and is survived by her children, Dennisse Vazquez, Beatriz Vazquez, Aracelis (Vazquez) Davila, Efrain Vazquez Jr., and Maximiliano Vazquez; her siblings, Manuel Roldan, Carmen Laureano, Cecilio Roldan, Iris Mangual, and Hilda Rivera; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery (Section 35). Please meet directly at the cemetery.
