Virgin Socorro Hernandez Baez

Virgin Socorro Hernandez Baez, 79, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at the Hospital of Central CT. Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ramon Hernandez Vargas and Anna Maria Baez. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and was a faithful radio listener of 1120 La Puertoriquenisa. Surviving are eight children, Ines Vargas, Rosa Hernandez, Nilsa Pabon, Julio Pabon, Madeline Pabon, Luis Pabon, Harry Hernandez, and Alexis Pabon; two brothers in Puerto Rico, Jose Hernandez and Francisco Hernandez; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two children, David Pabon and Jelissa Pabon. Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 9-11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
