Valborg C. Davis

Valborg Carlson Davis, 92, of Colchester, died peacefully on Tuesday, Sept 19, 2006 at Chestelm Health Center. She was the widow of Grover Davis who died in 1981. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Signe Edlund Carlson. Valborg was a resident of New Britain, Southington, and Florida, before moving to Colchester ten years ago. She enjoyed many summers in Higganum at Hidden Lake. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Southington, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, and the Colchester Senior Center. Valborg was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed playing bingo. Surviving are a son, Stephen Davis and his wife Patricia of East Haddam; two grandchildren, Michael Pesce of Salem and Deanna Bray of Hebron; a great-grandson, Christopher Bray of Hebron; a niece Geraldine Longo of Farmington and formerly of Southington and her children Mariessa and Michael; two nephews, Alan Lyon of Manchester and his children Bonnie and Julie, and William Lyon of Southington and his son David. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Southington, 37 Main St., Southington, CT 06489.
