Born on March 2, 1939 in Avella, Province of Avellino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Sebastiano Acierno and Carmela Sorriento. She worked part time as a seamstress while her children were young. She loved to garden and cook and kept her house immaculate at all times.

She also leaves her sister Giuseppina Acierno of Naples, Italy and her sisters-in-law, Sebastiana Santoro of Palermo, Italy and Maria Santoro of Berlin. In addition to her husband, Raffaele, she was predeceased by her brothers, Antonio, Raffaele, and Carmine Acierno and sisters, Louisa and Maria Acierno, all of Naples, Italy. Her brothers in law, Sebastiano Santoro of Palermo, Italy, Giuseppe Santoro and Tony Santoro, sisters-in-law, Dora Fazzino and Carmela Santoro; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Among her friends, she always had a special bond with her two “besties” Santina Mangiafico of New Britain and Maria Mangiafico of Berlin, she shared many fun days visiting with them and having espresso, going shopping and then going out to lunch.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the kind and thoughtful doctors, nurses and staff and the Hebrew Home in West Hartford, where Tommasina spent the final months of her life.
