Thomas Taricani

Thomas Taricani, 62, of New Britain, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born in New Britain, he was the son of Grace Lewis Taricani of New Britain and the late Edwin Taricani. He was a resident of Long Beach Island in New Jersey for 30 years before returning to New Britain. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed at the Hospital for Special Care and Stanley Works before becoming a general contractor for his own business, Taricani Construction. Surviving are his mother, Grace Lewis Taricani; a daughter, Kathleen Taricani Hickey of Roslindale, MA; two step-children, Patricia Finney of Providence, RI and John Finney of New Britain; two brothers, David Taricani and his wife Diana of South Plainfield, NJ, and Larry Taricani of Plainville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lydia and John Brophy of Southington, Beth and Larry Richards of Danielson; his former wife Margaret Maslow Taricani of Windsor; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Taricani Giovannucci. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. Ann Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
