Thomas V. Quistberg

Thomas ("Tom") Verner Quistberg, 88, of New Britain, CT, passed away on March 16, 2023, surrounded by loving family.  He was the devoted husband of Margaret (Link) Quistberg for 61 years.

Born in Hartford, CT, Tom was the son of Marie and Thomas Quistberg.  He graduated from Bristol High School class of 1953 and proudly served in the US Navy.  In 1961 he moved to New Britain where he raised his family.  He worked for The Grand Union Company for over 35 years, retiring in 1996.  He was a dedicated parishioner of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed membership at the Donau and Quartette Clubs.  Tom loved his family and friends, St. John's, all things Bristol, his Swedish heritage, the US Navy, fly fishing, the Boston Red Sox and New York Giants, and simply having an engaging conversation.

In addition to Margaret, he is survived by his two children; Paul Quistberg and his wife Christine of Boston, MA and daughter Lori Staff and her husband Kent of Vancouver, WA.  He also leaves his beloved grandchildren; David, Amy and Brian Quistberg and Carolyn and Thomas Fiorillo along with three great grandchildren, Leia, Oliver and Evan.  He also leaves his sister Joyce Gorajec of Monmouth, ME along with many nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 20, at 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 295 Arch St. in New Britain.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's memory to Veterans, Inc, 232 Arch St., New Britain or The New Britain High School Spirit Fund run by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (CFGNB.org).  Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
