Thelma Leokadia Drachenberg

Thelma Leokadia (Rinas) Drachenberg, 93, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at a local convalescent home. She was the widow of John Drachenberg. Born in Wloclawek, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Bertha (Dreger) Rinas. Thelma has been a New Britain resident most of her life, coming from Poland many years ago. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schuetzenpark and the Varpas Club. Thelma is survived by her two sons, Robert Drachenberg of New Britain, Thomas Drachenberg and his wife Lois of Plainville, her sister Elsa Darling of SC, her grandchildren, Jacob Drachenberg and his wife Rebecca, and Amanda Hintz and her husband Keith, her great grandchildren, Ella Drachenberg and Elizabeth Hintz, her special cousin Gustav Rinas and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
