Teresa Ortiz

Teresa Ortiz, 77, of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Uconn John Dempsey Hospital.

Teresa was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother/great grandaughter.  She was a dedicated member of St Mary's Church and was a advocate in the New Britain Latino Community. As a long time Clinical Social Worker, her professional career at Ceadercrest Hospital in Newington,  CT and St Mary's Hospital in Waterbury,  CT was her passion with treating her patients.

She is survived by her two son's, Luis A. Ortiz and Henry Ortiz, her three daughters, Elizabeth Ortiz, Madeline Figueroa and Cassandra Diaz, along with her cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Teresa is predeceased by her sisters, Elba, Rosa, Milagros and Olga Ortiz. Her brothers, Anibal and Carlos Ortiz.

Teresa’s immediate family would like to express their deep gratitude to all of the friends and family members who embraced her love and consultation as a matriarch of the family.

Visitation for Teresa will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church of St. Joachim Parish, 544 Main St., New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
