Teresa P. Haddock

NEWINGTON, CT and HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC: Teresa P. Haddock, 86, was born in Lima, Peru in 1934. She entered Heaven’s gates on August 25, 2021. She loved travelling internationally, and enjoyed her house in Peru, and her beachfront condominium on Hilton Head Island, SC, where she retired to in the early 1990s. She enjoyed playing Bingo and tennis there, while giving her time for volunteer work.

She loved family life. She and her husband of 30+ years, Richard D. Haddock, Sr. lived in Newington, CT where they raised a family together on Maple Hill Avenue. They also enjoyed sailing extensively in the summer months, especially aboard their beloved Irwin sailboat, the Peruvian Pearl , and were members of the Shennecossett Yacht Club in Groton, CT. Teresa also enjoyed playing tennis at the Newington Tennis Center.

Teresa loved tasty international cuisine from the countries she visited during her retirement. Teresa worked, and retired, from Hartford Hospital as a Secretary in Personnel for 20 years where she also served as a Spanish-speaking interpreter. She was a Communicant at Saint Mary’s Church in town, and was known to be an active, independent, fun-loving, generous, courageous woman, as well as a wonderful family-oriented lady.

Teresa was predeceased by her husband, Richard D. Haddock, Sr. and her brother, Domingo Pardave. Surviving are her son, Richard D. Haddock, Jr., his wife Laurie, and daughter, Jennifer Haddock Demers. She was a loving grandmother to Richard D. Haddock III, Joseph R. Haddock, Kevin L. Demers, Caelan S. Haddock, Madigan S. Haddock, and a Great-Granddaughter, Sofia S. Haddock. Also surviving are her siblings, the Pardave Family: Dora, Carmen, Palmira, Abigail, and Elva, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service will be private. In lieu of flowers, and in the spirit of her love for dogs, you may make a contribution in Teresa’s name to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111.
