Takouhi Erikian

Takouhi "Queenie" Erikian, 66, of New Britain, passed away on Wednesday at Hartford Hospital. She was the widow of Hagop Jack Erikian. Born in Alepo, Syria, she was the daughter of the late Sarkis and Zarouhi (Vartabedian) Akelian. Queenie has been a long time New Britain resident coming from Syria 44 years ago. She worked for Whitsen's Food Service for over 30 years. Queenie was member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection where she was a member of the Women's Guild and very active with the Seniors group. Surviving are her two daughters, Dian and Talin Erikian, both of New Britain, two sisters, Ani Nahabedian of NJ, Sylva Davidian and her husband Sahag of FL, a brother-in-law Sarkis Yirigian and his wife Angel of Newington, a sister-in-law Henrietta Berberian of Plainville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, 1910 Stanley St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
