Susan (Celuch) Rascoe, 83, of Kensington, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of her greatly missed husband, Robert Rascoe who died in 1977. Born in Bayonne, NJ, Susan was the daughter of the late Peter and Susie (Hovanec) Celuch. She had been a Kensington resident for over 47 years and was a devoted member of St. Paul Church. Susan is survived by her son Gary Rascoe and his wife Louise, of Bahama, NC and three daughters and their husbands, Karen and Dr. Robert Wheeler of Amherst, NH, Janet and George Armentano of Holliston, MA, and Laurie and Dermott O'Neill of Kensington, and her six grandchildren, Michelle, Bobby, Brian, Christina, Eric and Scott. She was predeceased by her sister and best friend, Mary Kornutik, and her brothers Johnny and Joey. Above all, Susan loved spending time with her family and found happiness through their happiness. Her grandchildren bought her the utmost joy whether playing with them when were young or spending time with them later as they grew. The family would like to thank and acknowledge Dr. James Hoffman, the kind staff at Bel Air Manor, VITAS Hospice Service, The C-5 staff at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and the VNA of Berlin for their compassionate care of Susan. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at St. Paul Church, Kensington. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
