Steven Bielinski, Jr.

Steven "Steve" Bielinski, Jr., 81, of Southington, beloved husband of MaryAnn Luppino Bielinski, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Britain, September 13, 1923, he was the son of the late Stefan and Theresa Holzmann Bielinski. He was a New Britain resident for over 75 years prior to moving to Southington in 1999. Steve and Mary Ann enjoyed the winter months at Hidden Harbour Estates, in Stuart, Florida. Steve was a United States Army Veteran, of World War II, serving in the Army Artillery Unit where he saw action in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon his discharge from the service, he met the love of his life, Mary Ann. They celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary on May 1st. Steve was formerly employed at New Britain Machine for 44 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Donau Club. Steve was an avid gardener and loved playing cards. In addition to his wife MaryAnn, he is survived by two daughters, Terry Gerratana, former State Representative of New Britain and Berlin, and her husband Dr. Frank Gerratana;, Suzanne Bielinski, President Pro-Tempore of the New Britain Common Council, all of New Britain; a son Steven Bielinski III and his wife Patrese, all of New Britain; six grandchildren, Frank Gerratana, Gregory Gerratana, Steven Bielinski IV, Adam Bielinski, Noah Bielinski, Monique Jones and her children, Jordan and Faith; two nieces Rose DeLeo and her husband John, Jean Priessel and her husband Norman; and several grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church followed by military honors. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Monday evening from 5-8 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 295 Arch St., New Britain 06051 or to the Hospice of Central CT, 40 East St. Plainville, CT 06010.
