Stephanie C. Herrera

Stephanie Herrera, 33 years old of Newington, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at 3 PM on Saturday July 11th. Born January 17, 1983 at Hartford Hospital, Stephanie attended Newington High School. At 19 years old, she married Richard Herrera in Louisiana. Thru years of studying she earned a degree in nursing from Capitol Community College. She gifted this world with two children Joseph and Kaylee Herrera. In addition to her husband, surviving are her parents, Christine Paretti and John Downey; her sister, Lorraine Downey; her grandparents, Janice and Richard Paretti; her children, Joseph and Kaylee Herrera, her mother-in-law, Millie Herrera; her father-in-law, Richard Herrera Sr.; as well as many other aunts uncles cousins and friends As a nurse she was very empathetic and developed trust and friendship with patients. Her motherly love raised two beautiful, smart and loving children. Her piercing eyes and amazing smile brighten up the gloomiest of days. Her presence will be missed by so many people. But her memory will forever be a part of us. Please join us to celebrate her life at a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 12 Noon at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday morning, from 9 to 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain.
