Spencer Baldauf Reynolds, 88, of Harwinton, and formerly of New Britain, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at Andrew House Healthcare. Born in Harwinton on April 8, 1914 to Laura Chamberlain and Robert M. Reynolds, Spencer was raised in Terryville and was a 1936 graduate of Bowdoin College. He was a brother of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Mr. Reynolds worked briefly for the Eagle Lock Company, then settled in New Britain where he was employed at the Stanley Works, primarily in the Power Tool division. He devoted much volunteer time to his lifelong interests in classical music, genealogy, political issues, and the New Britain Lions Club. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Carll Pallokat of Harwinton; a daughter-in-law, Barbara T. Reynolds of Burlington, NJ; grandchildren Ginger Donald Betti of West Cornwall, Timothy Heidi Pallokat of Aurora NY, Laura Reynolds of Langhorne PA, Christian Reynolds of Burlington NJ; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Reynolds was predeceased by his brother, S/Sgt. Warren C. Reynolds who was killed in action with the 10th Mountain Division; his wife, Janet Lane Reynolds, and his son, Harold G. Reynolds. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at 11:00 AM at the Prospect United Methodist Church, 99 Summer St. Bristol with the Rev. Robert MacDonald officiating and the New Britain Lions Club participating. A reception will follow at the church. Burial will be private in East Cemetery, Harwinton. There are no calling hours.
