Spencer G. Molloy

Spencer G. Molloy, 79, of Newington, died Sunday. Nov. 5, 2006 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of the late Doris Pierson Molloy. Born in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Spencer and Marion McEvoy Molloy. He was a former New Haven resident and a Newington resident since 1957. Spencer was a graduate of the University of Hartford and was employed at Meyer Wire and Cable Company in Hamden, retiring as vice president in 1991. He was a devoted member of Bethany Covenant Church in Berlin, where he sang in the Sanctuary Choir. He was a former member and past president of the North Branford Rotary Club and was a member of Norden Lodge, IOGT, and VASA Surviving are two sisters, Carole M King and her husband John of East Haven, Jean M. McGowan and her husband John of Clinton; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia M Ziukas, formerly of West Haven; and Sharon M. Juliano, formerly of East Haven. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Bethany Covenant Church. A reception will follow at church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-5 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Hospice.
