Shirley Wearne

Shirley (Lindgren) Wearne, 86, of Newington, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at The Summit At Plantsville. She was the widow of John Wearne. Born on Nov. 15, 1925 in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Emma (Wiotowicz) Lindgren. She was brought up from the age of three by Allain and Edith Robertson. Shirley lived in New Britain and Southington before moving to Newington. She retired from Southington Savings Bank after 18 years of employment. Shirley was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Surviving are her daughter, Lois Sanders and her husband Mark of Bristol; three sons, David Wearne and his wife Christine of New Britain, James Wearne of Baileyville, ME, Daniel Wearne and his wife Debi of Meriden; eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
