Shirley A. Deloy

Shirley A. DeLoy, 91, of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at the Jerome Home.

Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Agnes (Munson) Whitney.  Shirley was a lifelong New Britain resident and was formerly employed as a nurse at New Britain General Hospital.  She was a member of South Congregational Church.  Shirley will be remembered as a wonderful mother, always participating in her children’s activities.  She enjoyed traveling, scrabble, bingo and crossword puzzles.

Surviving are a son, Thomas H. Deloy of Cape Canaveral, FL; three daughters, Ellen (Tom) Morrissey of Newington, Kathleen Bonetti (Robert) of Bristol, and Sandra Siek of New Britain; a sister, Barbara Dixon of Kensington; six grandchildren, Thomas (Yanti) Morrissey, Michael (Sue) Morrissey, Dennis (Ann) Morrissey, Matthew Morrissey, Robert Bonetti, Sean (Nicole) Bonetti; and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter Patricia Consolati.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain. A calling hour will be held Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South Congregational Church, 90 Main St., New Britain, CT  06051.
