Sharon Payne

Sharon Payne, 68, of Berlin, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday September 7, 2023.  Born in New Britain, CT she was the daughter of the late Shelley and Flossie Mae Payne and was a resident of New Britain most of her life.  She was a graduate from New Britain High School and The Creative School of Hairdressing and obtained a license for hairdressing.  She spent several years as a hairdresser before becoming a school crossing guard for the City of New Britain.  She enjoyed spending her free time at the Hospital for Special Care frequenting their Aquatic and Fitness Center.

Sharon is survived by her three nieces, Nina and Kimekio Perry, Saraea Palmer, two nephews, Steven and Anthony Perry, a special great-niece Elle Harper, several great nieces and great nephews, and many cousins.  She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Yvonne Perry and Rachine Palmer.

A memorial ceremony for Sharon will be held at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main Street, New Britain, CT on Thursday September 14, 2023 from 4-6pm.
