Shanel Monique Joiner

Shanel M. Joiner was born May 18, 1974 in Hartford, CT to the late Allen L. Williams and Kathleen Birchard. She transitioned on Monday, September 20, 2021. She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Rodney W. Birchard, Marie V. Birchard, Elijah Williams, and Florence Williams.

She leaves to cherish her husband, Calvin Joiner; two sons, Jeremy Joiner and Joshua Joiner (Lindsayz); a bonus daughter, Kaleenah Williams; mother, Kathleen Birchard; mother-in-law, Merilene Joiner; two sisters, Gina Milner (Troy)and Marie Santana (Luis); two brothers, Allen Williams and Tyrone Manfredi (Chris) and a host of aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews, and cousins.

She took pride in being a devoted wife and mother. With a bright spirit, warm smirk, and reserved demeanor, Shanel touched everyone she encountered - family, friends, and coworkers alike.  Shanel was a dedicated worker as a Fiscal Administrative Assistant, who enjoyed coming home spending time with her family, playing board games, and indulging in reality television.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Wellspring Church, 222 Lincoln St., Berlin.  Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery.  Following the burial a reception will be held back at Wellspring Church.  Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church.  If you would like to send a flower arrangements, please have them delivered to Wellspring Church, Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain, is in charge of arrangements.
