Sebastian S. Scollo, 98, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 at the Rocky Hill Veteran’s Home and Hospital. He was the widower of Shirley (Slater) Scollo.
Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Rose (Mudo) Scollo. Sebastian was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. He served in the Merchant Marines and was formerly employed at Gros-Ite before retiring.
Surviving are three children, Sherry Lang, David Scollo and SallyAnn Woitowitz and her husband Mark; four grandchildren, Michelle Boucher, Rebecca DiMaria, Rhiannon Woitowitz, and Sara Scollo; six great-grand children; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Sebastian Scollo Jr., his granddaughter, Tanya Scollo Chiaravolutti and his beloved dog, Molly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Ann Church, St. Joachim Parish. Please meet directly at church. Burial will be in Wilcox Cemetery, East Berlin. Calling hours are Monday from 5-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Memorial donations may be made to Fox Memorial Clinic at the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
