Sean Paul Govola

Sean Paul Govola, 39, of New Britain, Connecticut passed away suddenly on June 4, 2021.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home located at 411 S. Main Street, New Britain, CT 06051.  There will be a funeral Mass starting at 9:30 am on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church of New Britain located at 158 Broad Street, New Britain, CT 06053 and repast lunch starting at 11:00 am at Portofino’s Restaurant located at 246 New Britain Road, Kensington, CT 06037.

Sean was born in Hartford, CT to Ted Govola Sr. and Susan Govola (née Webster) on September 23, 1981.  He was a tremendous athlete having starred in wrestling and track and field at Rocky Hill High School in Rocky Hill, CT, and was a devoted fan of all of the teams from Pittsburgh, PA, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.  What may be a surprise given the sheer size, strength and aggression of an athlete like Sean was that he was a huge animal lover.  He loved dogs and cats and was a soft touch around any stray that needed his help.

Sean is survived by his two daughters, Robin Martinez and Elianna Govola, his brothers Ted Govola Jr. and Christopher Govola, his parents, Ted Sr. and Susan, and his long-time partner, Brittany Larson, and her two sons Kamden and Luke Stenier, who Sean loved as if they were his own.
