Santa Iris Rivera

Santa Iris Rivera, 68, passed away on September 14, 2016. She was the widow of Julio Rivera.

Born on February 12, 1948 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Santa was the daughter of the late Santos Velez and Ramona Arce.  She was a resident of Florida and a former resident of Meriden, CT.

A beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Santa is survived by her three sons Angel Rivera of New Britain, Hector Rivera of FL, and Roberto Rivera of FL, her daughter Ramona Mercado of Meriden, twenty-nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren, four brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden.
