Sandria Olivine Lyn

Sandria Olivine Lyn “Hopie”, 74, a former New Britain resident, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

Born in Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Caleb Black and Ethel Williams. Sandria was a long time New Britain resident before moving to New Hartford in 2019. She was formerly employed as a Registered Nurse at New Britain General and Middlesex Hospital. She was a member of Church of the Most High God in Hartford. She was known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, sweet demeanor, loving ways, and for her Jamaican accent. She always put others first and loved all of her friends and family deeply.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Natasha Lyn; her sister, Retinella Black; her half-sister, Winifred Black; her former husband, Noel Lyn; three grandchildren, Hunter Bocchichio, Maximus Mistopoulos, and Remy Mistopoulos; her many brother in-laws, sister in-laws; numerous nephews and nieces on her side and on the Lyn’s side; Godson Jr; her adopted family; grand-daughters, Jackie and Maddie and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Special thank you to Ryan Johnson for being my mother’s caretaker and friend. Thank you for taking such good care of my mother and helping me with anything I needed. Your dependability , loyalty, devotion and companionship will never be forgotten. You made my mother’s time here happy and comfortable as can be. Thank you- Natasha

Funeral services will be held on Saturday from 10 AM to 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
