Sandra Lee Cook

Sandra Lee (Wennberg) Cook, 64, of Bristol, wife of Richard Cook, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Bridgeport.

Born in New Britain, she was a Bristol resident since 1962 and was a graduate of Bristol Eastern High School Class of 1978.  Sandy was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Forestville.  She enjoyed UCONN Women’s Basketball, the Boston Red Sox, reading and crafts.

Surviving are her husband, Richard J. Cook; her mother Marlene (Bartley) Wennberg; a brother, Scott Wennberg; a sister, Joy White and her husband John; her nieces, Jillian Cretella, Emma Cretella, Whitney Riker and her husband Devin, and Emily Hagedorn and her husband Brad; her great nephews, Kimi Riker and Silas Hagedorn; her brothers-in-law, Edward (Kathi) Cook, Thomas (Lisa) Cook, and Christopher Cook; and many cousins.  She was predeceased by her father, Thorsten Wennberg.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Burial will be private.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to Gloria Dei Food and Diaper Distribution Fund, 355 Camp St., Forestville, CT  06010.
