Samuel Perla

Samuel Perla, 68 of New Britain, CT passed away on October 19, 2024, after a brief illness with family by his side. He was born on February 29, 1956, in Puerto Cortes, Honduras to his late mother Isabel Bonilla and late father Juan Perla. He settled in La Lima with his wife Miriam Perla to raise their five kids before moving to America in search of a better life.

He had a loving soul and loved to make people laugh. The most important thing to him was his family and he would always made sure to provide to those he loved. He would love to talk about his loved ones and would often tell stories of the many experiences he had in his adventurous life. There was nothing he enjoyed more than his wife’s cooking and carne asada during the weekend. He loved to watch sports, especially his New York Yankees and nothing brought him more pride than seeing his home country’s national soccer team on TV. He loved to listen to music and he also loved to write poetry, often only sharing them with those he felt most comfortable with.

He is survived by his wife Miriam Perla; and their children, Cinthia Perla, Jessica Perla (and her spouse Erick Alvarado), Miriam Melissa Perla, Katerine Perla (and her spouse Ethan Falla), and Samuel Fabrizio Perla (and his spouse Alexis Perla); his other children, Marvin Samuel Perla Deraz, Gissela Claribel Perla Lendos, and Rodrigo Perla Moran; his grandchildren, Alex Alvarado, Lily Serena Perla, Sophia Alvarado, Caroline Chong, Leif Falla, Brynn Perla, David Emilio Perla Padilla, Daylin Perla, Guadalupe Perla, and Brittany Perla; as well as his siblings, Daniel Perla, Angela Perla, Petrona Perla, Juan Perla, David Perla, Isabel Perla, Julio Perla, and Arnulfo Perla.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Calling hours will be on Thursday from 10 AM to the time of the service.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
