Ruth Ripple

Ruth L. Ripple, 89, of New Britain, widow of Franklyn E. Ripple, died on Tuesday, August 21. She was the daughter of Edward and Helen Lindeman Litke. A lifelong resident of New Britain, Ruth was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of New Britain and was active in its Women's Society for many years. She was also a longtime member of AARP of New Britain, the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Boys' and Girls' Club, and the Women's Club of New Britain. She leaves a son, Kurt Ripple of Simsbury and a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Thomas Hine of West Hartford, along with two grandsons, Christopher Hine and his wife Marissa of Wayne, Pennsylvania and Craig Hine of San Francisco and New Haven, Connecticut. She also leaves a niece, Cheryl Zagorski of Northport, Long Island, a nephew, Jeffrey Grandahl of Simsbury, and a brother-in-law, Edmund Grandahl of West Hartford. She was predeceased by her sister, Adeline Grandahl. The funeral service will be held New Britain on Wednesday, August 29 at 12:00 P.M. at the Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main Street. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at 538 Preston Avenue, P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450 or to the charity of your choice. The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to the staffs of both Brittany Farms Health Center and Andrew House Healthcare of New Britain.
