Ruth D. Aponte

Ruth D. Aponte, 76, of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Home. Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Cristino and Isabel (Guzman) Sanchez. Ruth was a New Britain resident for over 60 years and was employed at General Electric before retiring. She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church, where she was a Church Mother and served on the Missionary Society at church. Surviving are her children, Rosalina Guadarrama and friend Will, Rosa Maria Merced and her husband Jose, Angel Aponte Jr. and his wife Robin, Jose Aponte and his wife Cindy, Luis Sr. and Tonya Gardner; a sister, Maria Sanchez; her grandchildren, Margie, Jennifer, Albert, Derek, LaTasha, Alicea, Luis Jr. Thomas, Shanya, Tawana, Javon, Precious, Angel III and Daniel; and a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Angel Luis Aponte Sr., a son Jorge David Aponte Sr. a grandson Jorge David Aponte Jr., and a brother, Luis Sanchez Sr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 12 Noon at the Second Baptist Church, 55 Chapman St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are prior to the service on Wednesday morning at church, from 10 Am until 12 Noon. Erickson-Hansen Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
