Rosemarie Banasik

Rosemarie (Carbone) Banasik, 81, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, Dec.  5, 2022.  She was the widow of Richard Paul Banasik.

Born in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Carmelo Carbone and Anna Marie (Burgio) Carbone.  Rosemarie was a former Torrington resident and a resident of New Britain most of her life.  She was formerly employed as a crossing monitor.

Rosemarie was a woman of many talents from crafting and cooking to mixing concrete.  She enjoyed hosting every holiday and loved to entertain family and friends.  She always had a beautiful and bountiful table.  Everything she served was made from scratch, including desserts, cookies, and cakes.

Surviving are a son, Peter Austin; a daughter Kimberly Ann Bianca; a sister-in-law, Diane Bulawa; three grandchildren, Sarah Carifa (Shawn), Heather Korgaard (Jens), and Brianna Marie Austin; a great-grandson, Colton Jase Carifa; a nephew, Michael Bulawa; and a cousin, Maria DiPietro.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 4-6 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery.
