Rose (Harmaian) Badrigian, 85, of Orange and formerly of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Harry Badrigian. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Arshag and Hasig (Hairabedian) Harmaian. Rose was a long time New Britain resident before moving to Orange to reside with her son Robert. She was formerly employed as a Biology teacher at New Britain High School, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection in New Britain and the Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension in Trumbull. Rose was a member and past president of the Daughters of Vartan, a member and past president of the New Britain Teacher's Club, a member of the Armenian Relief Society, member and past president of the Women's Guild at both churches, and a past member of the Armenian Student Association. Surviving are her husband, Harry Badrigian; a son, Dr. Robert Badrigian, his wife Dr. Cynthia Gentes, and their son William of Orange, CT; and a daughter, Barbara Ourlian, her husband, Cpt. Dennis Ourlian, Ret. U.S. Navy, and their son Zachary of Suffolk, VA. In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by a son, Harry Peter Badrigian. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 Am to 10:15 Am on Saturday morning at church.
