Ronald Hansen, 62, of New Britain, died unexpectedly on Tuesday August 13, 2002. He was the beloved husband of 41 years of Carol Anderson Hansen. Born in Carlisle, PA he was the son of the late Hans and Grace Parkinson Hansen. Raised in New Britain and a 1958 graduate of New Britain High School, Ron has lived most of his life in New Britain. He has been on the Board of Water Commissioners for 14 years, very active in politics and is a member of the Republican Town Committee. Ron was the owner of the Handy Pantry of New Britain and the owner of Wicker Works of New Britain and Southington. He has been a Justice of the Peace for 40 years. Ron worked at Schallers in sales. He has been involved in auto sales for 17 years and Real Estate sales for many years in New Britain. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jonathan and his wife Dr. Melinda Hansen of New Milford, and Adam Hansen of New Britain, two daughters and a son-in-law, Rhona and her husband Travis Kenan and Paula Hansen all of New Britain, and the light of his life, his granddaughter Gabrielle Maria Hansen, two brothers Eric Hansen of Bonita Springs, FL and Carl Hansen of Newington and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Paul Hansen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2002, at 11:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday morning from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
