Roger Lee Eldred, Sr.

Roger Lee Eldred Sr., 50, of New Britain, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in Bristol, he was a New Britain resident for the past 27 years. He was formerly employed with the City of Bristol. Roger was an avid C.B. Operator and was well known as "38 Special". He loved wrestling, fishing, hunting, his tractor and enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Surviving are a son, Roger Eldred Jr.; four daughters, Nancy Eldred, Nicole Eldred and her husband Carlos Rosario, Noel Eldred, and Natalie Eldred; his former wife, Donna Eldred; his mother, Irene Eldred; a brother, Rodney Eldred; a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Daniel Trepanier; four grandchildren, Robert, Nicholas Jr., Nathan, and Emma; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Rolla Eldred, and a brother, Tracy Eldred. Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2-4 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the family, c/o Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
