Rocco Ralph "Rick" Conte, 76, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of Maureen Conte, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 26, 2005. Born in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of the late Rocco and Philomena Damiano Conte. He was a resident of Rocky Hill for over 30 years. Rick served as an officer in the US Navy during the Korean War. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and did post graduate studies at the US Naval School of Meteorology. During his working life, he was employed as a Professional Engineer in the steel construction industry. Rick's passions in life were God and his family, along with his love of music, history and his books. He was a long time and devoted member of Bethany Covenant Church. He was a Bible scholar and teacher, having completed the Bethel Bible Series and having served as an adult Sunday school teacher. Rick was an accomplished classical pianist and was a scholar in history and art. In addition to his wife Maureen, he is survived by two sisters, Teresa Buoninfante of Yonkers, NY and Kathleen Conte of Yorktown Heights, NY; a sister-in-law, Louise Conte of Rocky Hill; an aunt and uncle in Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Bethany Covenant Church, Berlin. Burial with military honors will be in Center Cemetery, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.
