Rocco Christiano

Rocco Christiano, 85, of Berlin, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2019, with his family by his side.  He was the husband of the late Betty (Recck) Christiano.  Born in White Plains, NY, he spent many years living in Reggio Calabria, Italy before returning to live in New Britain and Berlin.  Rocky was the sweetest, most gentle and generous man.  He worked hard all his life to provide for his family who will miss his stories and silly jokes.  Rocco leaves his daughters, Jane DeSimone and her husband Guy of Berlin, and Jill Christiano of Las Vegas, NV. , his cherished grandchildren, Christina DeSimone and her fiancé Andrew Giordano of Boston, Jeremy DeSimone of Breckenridge, CO, and Kai and Evan Walling of Las Vegas, NV.  He also leaves sister in laws, Fran Barr and Shirley Recck, brother in law, George Recck, dear friend, Jane Brown, and special nieces and nephews who will fondly remember summers at the beach with Uncle Rocky.  He was predeceased by his brother in law Carmine Recck and sister in law Joyce Recck.  Rocco’s family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Cassena Care of New Britain and Masonicare Hospice.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 24 ^th from 2:00-4:00pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St, New Britain, CT.  Private burial, with military honors, will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
