Roberto Laboy, 44 years old, born on April 15,1980 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, and was most recently a resident in New Britain, CT, passed away on Apr 27, 2024. Robert (AKA Pinguino), lived life to its fullest. He was a student at Putnam Vocational High School,in Springfield, MA where he studied auto mechanics. He worked with Moral Home Improvements in Hartford, CT. Robert had a gift with his hands. He can build you a bathroom, and the car to drive you to it. He was a member of the FLNY Bike Club, where he embraced his love for motorcycles. He loved his family far and near. Robert was a fan of the Boston Celtics and all other New England sports teams, From immediate, to extended, to the family he created, he loved and enjoyed them all. Robert loved trash talking and jokes. His smile was infectious, and his presence was always welcomed no matter where he was.
He is predeceased by his adoptive mother, Elsa Morales of Springfield, MA and his paternal brother, Carlos Laboy, of Florida. He leaves behind to cherish his love and memories: His parents, Roberto Laboy and Maria Del Carmen Melendez of Springfield, MA, eleven siblings: Glenda Laboy and Edwin Santiago of Springfield, MA, Julian Sarabez, Christina and Joanna Colon of New York, Katherine, Jovanny, Gabriel, Robert Laboy and Luis Hernandez of Florida, five bonus sisters: Annette Cruz, Elsie Rivera, Darlene Rivera and Tabatha (Marcus) Rivera-Earley of Springfield, MA, Elizabeth (Jose) Lopez of Chicopee, MA, his Fiancee: Carmen Lopez of New Britain, CT, seven children: Trinity Armani, Dalitza, Robert, Maritza, Hezekiah, Illusion Laboy all of New Britain, CT, and Jadis Torres of Springfield, MA, three bonus children: Luis Lopez, Sasha Luciano, and Mileishka Luciano of New Britain, CT. Five grandchildren: Nevaeh Zambranan, Merliah Laboy, Josiah Laboy, Nasani Laboy, and Legend Morales, one bonus grandchild: Jaxiel Mena, and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank you all for prayers, kind words and coming together to celebrate Robert’s life. Our king is gone, but he will never be forgotten.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 5 PM – 7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain, CT. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 11 AM – 12 PM at the funeral home followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT.
