Roberta Schultz Peifer passed away on October 17, 2003, after a long illness. She was born in New Britain on September 13, 1938, the daughter of the late Edward Schultz and Mary Patrick Schultz. She was a graduate of Charter Oak College, and was employed by the State of Connecticut for the last 10 years. Roberta was passionate about cooking and recently published a recipe book She will be remembered for her generosity and creative nature, her stories and unique figures of speech. She is survived by three sons, John Peifer, Jr. of Plainville, William Peifer and his wife, Jennifer of New Britain, and Major Kenneth Peifer, his wife Leila and two grandchildren, Ingrid and Ian of Stafford, VA; a sister, Marlene Paul of Ballston Lake, NY; and a brother, Edward Schultz of San Diego, CA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 5:00 PM at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Roberta's memory, may be made to Friends of Animals Connecticut Chapter. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
