Robert C. Ziegler

Robert C. Ziegler, 94, formerly of Kensington, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 at Apple Rehab in Cromwell.  He was the widower of Amalia (Obermeier) Ziegler.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Ritz) Ziegler. Robert was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.   He was a Kensington resident most of his life and was formerly employed at Stanley Tool.  Robert was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Britain and the Stanley Seniors.

Robert was predeceased by four brothers, Frank Ziegler, Raymond Ziegler, Howard Ziegler, and Harold Ziegler; by five sisters, Elizabeth Stabert, Madeline Brandt, Mildred Haman, Marie Bobecka, and Lillian Ziegler; by two nieces, Carol Nass and Nancy Knapp; and by two nephews, Howard Ziegler Jr. and Roger Haman.  He is survived by ten nieces and nephews, Beverly Wolf, Maryann Kron, June Turner, Jean Haman, Ruth Lewis, Kenneth Brandt, Wayne Ziegler, Raylene Connolly, Richard Ziegler and Raymond Ziegler.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  A calling hour will be Saturday from 11 AM until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 295 Arch St., New Britain.
