Robert W. Thureson

Robert W. Thureson, 66, of Kensington, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005 at New Britain General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the son of Frances Bacon Thureson, with whom he resided, and the late Carl Thureson. He was predeceased by his loving wife and best friend, Dolores Cleveland Thureson. Born on March 11, 1938, he lived most of his life in Kensington, and also had a home in Otis, Massachusetts where he spent many happy years with his family and grandchildren. Bob retired from New Britain General Hospital Maintenance Department after 35 years of employment. A loving father, grandfather, and friend, Bob is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Thureson Jr. of New Britain, Gary and Marylou Thureson of Collinsville, and his three grandchildren, Stacey, Karen and Michael, who were the light of his life. In addition to his mother, children, and grandchildren, he leaves his sister, Mona Smith of Terryville, and his nieces and nephews. He also leaves his dog, Peaches, who was his constant companion. Bob was an avid sports fan who loved the outdoors. He will be missed by all who knew him. Put a nine on it! Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery, Berlin.
