Robert Eugene Perkins

Robert Eugene Perkins, 80, of Newington, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 at a local convalescent home. He was the widower of Cecile Privey Perkins. Born in Boston, MA, he was a former New Britain resident and a Newington resident since 1963. He was formerly employed at Pratt & Whitney and was later employed at the Farmington Theater and as a Newington School Bus Driver before retiring. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Surviving are a step son, William Thomas Betz and his wife Marjie Peifer of Capitol Heights, MD; a daughter-in-law, Karen Betz of Friendly, MD; many grandchildren and their spouses including Robert and Beth Betz, Jeffrey Betz, Kevin and Sherry Betz, Christopher Betz and Deedee Betz; six great grandchildren, Khristina, Matthew, Stephen, Joshua, Abigail, and Juliet; a sister-in-law, Leona Anderson of Alexandria, VA; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be held privately in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Calling hours are Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
