Robert Eugene Miller, 72, of North FT Myers, FL, a former New Britain and Meriden resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL. He was the beloved husband of Josephine DeMaria Handel Miller. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Helen Postal Miller. He was formerly employed at Pratt & Whitney Div. of United Technologies for 37 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Unity Lodge #148 AF & AM, in New Britain, and was a member of the Ancient Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter, Valley of Hartford. He was a member of Sphinx Temple Shrine, Newington, and the Sphinx Temple Arab Patrol. He was a member and Past Patron of Martha Chapter, #21, O.E.S.; a life member and Past Patron of Laurel Court, Order of Amaranth; a member of Pequabuck Giddings #32, R.A.M., New Britain; a member of Ionic-Doric Council #33, R. & S.M.; and a Knight Templar, Washington Commandry, East Hartford. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his wife Josephine, he is survived by three children, Kathryn McGray and Marjorie Lynn Miller both of FL, and Robert W. Miller of New Britain; four step- children, Judith Wrobel and her husband Alfred, Valerie Cousino, and Sharon Plunske and her husband Wayne, all of Meriden, and Mary Beth Gosse and her husband Leonard of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Carl Miller of Sarasota, FL; two aunts, Gertrude Miller of Salem and Margaret Dailey of New Britain; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial with military honors will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Central CT, 205 W. Main St. New Britain, CT 06052.
