Robert F. Jud, 75, of Kensington, husband of Janet Frisk Jud, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Michael and Theresa Repp Jud. He was a New Britain resident before moving to Kensington in 1983. Robert was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and was formerly employed as a letter carrier for the US Postal service, retiring in 1996. He was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he formerly served on the church council. Robert was also a member of the VFW, Korean War Veterans, and the Donau Club. In addition to his wife Janet, he is survived by two sons, Robert W. Jud and his wife Sharon of Kensington, Russell K. Jud and his wife Kathleen, also of Kensington; a daughter, Christine Bowers and her husband Craig of East Lyme; seven grandchildren, Michael Bowers and his fiance Erin, Steven Bowers, Christopher Jud, Brian Jud, Laura Jud, Kevin Jud and David Jud; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
